Stumble Adbrite tips as an Advertiser

I made an Adbrite Review post a while back, but found that Web Marketers are able to use Adbrite as a source of cheap clicks, so I explore the site further.

Impact of Adbrite

For a starting bid of a penny per visitor, you can put direct traffic onto your landing page. This type of format is more successful with both branding and direct response advertisers. You can also see the Official AdBrite Advertiser Questions here.

Tips as a Seller

  • Never start your pricing too high. I learnt this the hard way, better to gradually increase prices over a 6 month period when you have back orders.
  • Make sure your placement is worth buying, remember the marketplace tagging, titles and site description.
  • AdBrite is more successful if you sell a few premium placements as opposed to just backfill placements.
  • Change the “your ad here” Adbrite code to something like “This site gets 50k uniques per day, advertise here”
  • Offer discounts to recurring publishers, or price reductions on 2 or 3 monthly adverts
  • Don’t use AdBrite’s auto pricing, it can be a source of cheap clicks but has no benefit to you.

Sign up with Adbrite

You can sign up here to be an Adbrite Advertiser, funds are securely deducted from your bank account after you purchase a Publisher’s advert.

Conclusion

I was lucky to have a huge backlog of advert buyers and was retailing about $1500 USD per month for one site. I contact Adbrite and they helped even further by displaying my site on their homepage, which increased sales further. My downfall was that I increased the price so much that it put advertisers off and even when I lowered the prices, the same advertisers (who were constantly rebilled) never came back…so be careful.
