Stumble Adding Sketchplanet to your Site

Sketchplanet is another site that I own, which labels itself as an Art Community where anyone can draw anything. There’s 20,000 sketches on the site and 4000 users registered since 2005. The site is Web 2.0, where you can make your drawings and then insert them on your own site via your personal RSS feed or adding Javascript.

About Sketchplanet

The site was constructed with PHP and Flash. The small sized drawing canvas allows for more detailed work as a bigger sized canvas may mean users feel obligated to fill up all the space.

Example of Outstanding Sketchplanet Drawings

Here’s some examples of sketches on Sketchplanet, which deserve to be showcased:

Adding your Sketches via RSS

After registering on the site, you are free to draw anything. After you’ve logged in, your RSS feed will be:

  • This can be confirmed by clicking on the RSS feed next to your username.
  • You can then provide the RSS for users to subscribe to or display them on your site.

Adding your Sketches via Javascript

Adding your drawings by using Javascript is the easiest way to showcase your individual work of art and it can be showcased on individual posts or shown off in the sidebar/footer.

To show your individual drawings, locate your image on the Sketchplanet site and click “add to your site” on the top right corner.
