Being one of the most over populated countries in the world, China grabbed hold both hands when the iPad launched last Friday, 17 September 2010. Customers, in some parts of China, tough it out in the rain just to get their hands on one of the iPads. Hundreds of people, children and adults alike rejoiced when the Apple stores opened.
Now eyes are set on this country to see how the iPad will affect its citizens. Apple-products already are a big hit, products such as the iPhone, iPod and the Apple computer. Household, businesses and even class rooms adjusted in China to accommodate these devices. Marketing strategies already in place to fully tap into the awaiting market (national and international). Businesses structuring their own marketing groups to work with their iPads in order to accumulate more business opportunities. Even Apple tries to help out the corporate people who like to stay on top of the news by establishing the iStore where they can purchase their daily news and view it on their iPads.
Although the newest technology come at the pretty price tag of $500.00 plus, this does not stop the loyal customers of the Apple stores in China to purchase their own iPad. What is scary is that young children from the ages of twelve years are amongst the front liners to get their hand on the iPads. Children are the future and having them fully educated in handling this technology may seem like a step in the right direction, but this may lead to a chain reaction for schools in China to support the iPads in their classrooms.
But marketers are seeing this as a beacon of hope. Apple generations who needs supplying and they eagerly to accommodate their needs.
But will this be enough to make the iPad also one of the golden boys of Apple, or will the current economy rain on Apple’s parade?
