PhpBay Pro Functions

PhpBay Pro is mainly focused for niche websites, available as both an eBay Wordpress Plugin and as a stand alone API version for integrating into other types of php based websites. It pulls listing from eBay and display them on your existing website or blog.

PhpBay Pro Features

• Adds eBay auction listings to your posts and pages easily.
• All auction listings are 100% html content, with a customisable template.
• Choose from different countries and languages in the eBay Auction system.
• Selection to list items “available” to a country, also has a zip code feature

Configure and Set Up

This set up is based for Wordpress users only, those modifying the API should have a first-hand knowledge of PHP anyway so my basic advice won’t help much!

• Firstly you need to join the eBay network
• Purchase the PhpBay Pro Software
• Upload the plugin and activate
• Go to Settings, phpBay Pro, Select Affiliate Type (ebay), Enter Your Ebay PID (supplied by eBay), Enter Your Custom ID (supplied by eBay)
• Modify the template template.ebay.results.html file

Basic Options Setup

This is an important part in the Wordpress setup, my selection is as follows:

• Encrypt Ebay URLs – No
• Display “Buy it Now” Items Only – Uncheck
• Display Items with Images Only – Check
• Use mod_rewrite on Ebay Images? – Uncheck
• Search Titles AND Descriptions? – Uncheck
• Everything else below is unchecked and no changes made

eBay Partner Network Tips

eBay has a habit of rapidly closing down affiliate accounts for the reasons of not earning enough revenue per month, not enough supplying clicks, intergration on dubious content etc.,.

My suggestion is to intergrate eBay and the code onto already existing sites, preferably ones with a constant stream of visitors. Try to not go overboard and add the code to as many sites as possible, keep it targetted and also try to make your site not look like a typical BANS site, add new content regularly.

Piggybank EPN plugin

This plugin displays eBay Partner Network statistics directly in the Wordpress administration panel. The target market is very larg, anybody that is an EPN affiliate and that uses Wordpress.

Search2Post plugin

This plugin automatically generates new blog pages (or posts) based on what a visitor enters into the search box. The automatic and relevant content is invaluable for rapidly growing the size of your blog. The target market is anybody that has a niche store on Wordpress and anybody that is using phpBay or phpOStock plugins.

Conclusion

It’s a great piece of software, it’s probably the first thing I bought and in the first month I earnt back the $79 I paid for it…very good value.
