Not using Adsense Anymore - Best Blogs Asia
An explaination on why Adsense isn’t good for Best Blogs in Asia.
This isn’t a rant about how bad Google are (I love them really!), but how best to monetise your sites. Google Adsense has been good to me over the years, I put it on sites and it was making me enough money to pay for the monthly server and domains.
Showing Competition
The problem being it shows my competitors, encouraging people to click. Also opens in the same window, losing my readers…perhaps forever. Also people are clued up by using Google Adsense now, people know that by clicking on an advert you are redirected somewhere else and also the sub-consious part that the site owner would earn money if you clicked…and we wouldn’t want that, would we!
Problems with Adsense
My many complaint is that I could send 1000’s of clicks to competitors adverts and be paid small change.
Finding Alternatives
- So the Google adverts have been removed from this site, instead replaced by monthly adverts on the right side of all pages (contact me for details) and better monetisation through the site and it’s articles.
Of course Adsense is great for startup sites, but for the long term future I’d recommend NOT using it as a source of income…it’s just too unstable.

YES. I agree. I am not using Google Adsense ever since.
Absolutely agree with you, am working on a startup and like you say I have decided not to run Adsense at all.
You have raised an important point when they get directed to all the competitors’ sites.
I would rather say that the startups need not use such an idea to pay up, since it makes you lose out to the competition. May be have them on dummy sites if you are ken to earn some bucks out of Adsense would make sense that way…

I am also thinking if I won’t use Adsense on my blog. Not having much luck from it.
