Submit to Unknown Search Engines - Best Blogs Asia
I thought I’d write about how to submit your site to the least well known Search Engines and reasons why.
Unknown Search Engines List
Bing
To make sure your site is included in the MSN spider search, submit to Bing’s URL submission page. Bing uses MSN’s search algorithm. If your site is already getting organic search traffic from Live Search (Live.com) and/or MSN (as shown on your web analytics reports), you do not have to re-submit your website to Bing.
Yandex
Yandex is the largest search engine in Russia.
Itgives priority to Russian websites so if you want to be sure to be indexed on Yandex, you should create a Russian content (perhaps on it’s own subdomain).
Then, go to the Yandex webmaster page, paste your url, enter the captcha and it’s complete.
Baidu
Baidu is the most popular search engine in China.
My personal experience is that pages/sections written in Chinese will get indexed even if the majority of your content is written in English.
Submit via the Baidu Submission Page and enter the captcha.
Ask
I still keep thinking Ask is still called Ask Jeeves, shows how old I am! Anyway, you should know all about Ask but you need to setup an updated XML file via http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http://www.theURLofyoursitemaphere.xml (Where theURLofyoursitemaphere.xml is your own url with link to XML file).
Cuil
I was reading that Cuil is bigger than Google, perhaps this is the case so maybe there is no need to submit your site to their index as it’s probably been spidered already. Submit to Cuil.
Duck Duck Go
Duck Duck Go is a unique search engine that can find silly and imaginative words that are used. It has a simple interface and is generally limited unlike the others. Enter your page and search phrase via Submit to Duck Duck Go.
